On March 15th, 2018, Capcom announced a second season of the show, set to premiere in Q4 of 2018. The series has a user rating of 6.4/10 on myanimelist. Crunchyroll published a trailer for the original series to YouTube on April 21st, 2016 (shown below). The series was directed by Ayumu Watanabe and written by Atsuhiro Tomioka. The series adapted the first two games in the franchise, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and Justice for All. In April of 2016, an anime of Ace Attorney premiered in Japan and Crunchyroll. He is marked by his cold demeanor and ability to be thrown off easily by surprising behavior.Īpollo Justice is the second protagonist in the series and apprentice of Phoenix Wright, who is introduced seven years after Wright loses his attorney license in the storyline. He is a direct rival to Wright and is constantly seen in legal battles against him. Miles Edgeworth is a prosecutor in the series who appears on several occasions. He's portrayed as a lawyer who depends on lucky breaks but has a strong sense for inconsistencies. Phoenix Wright is the original protagonist and most widely recognizable character in the series. The fifth game in the main series, which is set to reintroduce Phoenix Wright, was announced in January of 2012. The second title in the Investigations series was only released in Japan, with no announcement of an English-language release. Beginning with Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Egeworth and the rest of the Investigations series, the player could control the main character’s movement in non-confrontational situations. The fourth game in the series, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, was the first game developed specifically for the Nintendo DS, in which the player assumes the roles of the attorneys Apollo Justice and Miles Edgeworth. The first three games were ported to the Nintendo DS platform from 2005 to 2007. During crime scene segments, the player may identify clues and question witnesses in order to use evidence to defend their clients in court. The first three games in the series were released in Japan between 20 for the Game Boy Advance platform, in which the player assumes the role of the attorney Phoenix Wright.
